The second eMLS event of 2020 is just around the corner, and fans can now register to attend League Series Two presented by Coca Cola & PlayStation.
The free event, which features 25 of the best FIFA 20 gamers in the world representing MLS teams, heads west to Portland after a thrilling evening in Philadelphia last month. It will take place on Saturday, Feb. 15 from 3 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. PT (6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. ET) at Pure Space in Portland's Pearl District, and will offer fans in attendance a whole host of unique and exclusive experiences.
Portland fans in attendance can join Timber Joey in cheering on Timbers eMLS player RCTID Thiago, who will feature in the tournament's live streamed finale on Saturday as the host team's player. In addition, fans in attendance can receive limited edition eMLS x Timbers giveaways, design their own eMLS x Timbers jersey, create their own personalized FIFA Ultimate Team (FUT) card, and play FIFA 20 at open play stations.
On the sticks, there are plenty of storylines to keep an eye on. FC Cincinnati's FCC Fiddle is fresh off dethroning 2019 treble winner doolsta, fresh off signing for Nashville, to win League Series One, but one of the big takeaways from January's event was that there's a plethora of newcomers that are ready to upset the established order in eMLS.
In addition to the bragging rights on offer, the winner of the tournament will receive a $7,500 cash prize and bonus points in the overall eMLS standings. Those will come into play come eMLS Cup, when the top 11 players in the cumulative standings will qualify for the tournament, to be joined by the winner of a Last Chance Bracket. Gamers will also receive FIFA Global Series Points based on their finish in eMLS Cup, which will in turn help them in the FIFA 20 Global Series Qualifiers, the pathway to pro FIFA's most prestigious annual competition, the eWorld Cup.
