Ahead of their Thursday friendly with Wales, US men's national team players took the opportunity to spread a message of unity and action against social injustice leading up to kickoff.
All of the players had “Be the Change” adorned on the front of their anthem jackets. On the back of their jackets, each player had the opportunity to include a personalized message representing something meaningful to them. A full list of those messages can be found below.
The messages come ahead of the USMNT's first competitive match in over nine months, and amid the Black Lives Matter movement protests that are still sweeping across the country. MLS players have also been vocal in their solidarity with the movement throughout the MLS is Back Tournament and subsequent restart of the league season.
