MLS Cup Playoffs fever is reaching the centers of power in two of the largest cities in North America.
Toronto FC will host New York City FC as part of the Audi 2016 MLS Cup Playoffs Eastern Conference Semifinal on Sunday (7 pm ET, FS1 | TSN1/4 in Canada). And the cities' respective mayors have a friendly wager on the line for the two-legged series.
It began with New York City FC mayor Bill de Blasio, who Tweeted an idea to his counterpart in Toronto on Friday:
And Toronto mayor John Tory, whose Twitter header is currently TFC-themed, jumped right into the bet:
