The MLS Disciplinary Committee has fined LA Galaxy defender Ashley Cole and Montreal Impact midfielder Lucas Ontivero for actions taken in Week 16 of the MLS season.
Cole fined for failing to leave the field in a timely manner
The Disciplinary Committee unanimously ruled that Cole failed to leave the field in a timely manner after receiving a red card in the 96th minute of the Galaxy’s 1-1 draw at San Jose on Saturday. Cole will be issued an undisclosed fine for the action. He’ll be suspended for LA’s match against Vancouver on Saturday due to the red card.
Ontivero fined for embellishment
The Committee unanimously decided that Ontivero was guilty of embellishment in the 52nd minute of the Impact’s 2-2 draw against Sporting Kansas City on Saturday. Ontivero, who scored the opening goal of the match, will be issued an undisclosed fine for the action.
