The Colorado Rapids went down twice, but found a response each time to walk away with a share of the points.
The Rapids and Montreal Impact played to a 2-2 draw at Stade Saputo on Saturday afternoon in a match-up of two of the league's best teams. The equalizer came in the 73rd minute via Rapids defender Bobby Burling, and it canceled out a low drive from distance from Maxim Tissot five minutes after halftime.
The Impact also held a lead early in the opening stanza after Didier Drogba scored off a free kick, but could not hold onto it. Shkelzen Gashi scored in the 47th minute to make the match 1-1, and he then helped set up the Burling goal that ensured that Colorado would leave Montreal with a result.
The result moved the Rapids into first place in the Western Conference with a 5-2-2 record and the Eastern Conference-leading Impact to 4-3-2.
