After impressing for USL side Seattle Sounders 2 in 2015, the Seattle Sounders have signed St. Vincent and the Grenadines international Oalex Anderson, the club announced on Tuesday.
Anderson, 20, is the third player to make the jump up to Seattle's first team after starting with S2.
Scoring four goals in 16 appearances for S2, Anderson has also represented St. Vincent and the Grenadines 20 times, notching 10 goals for his country, including Vincy Heat's only goal in a World Cup qualifier against the US national team in St. Louis in November.
"It's exciting to see our development system at work in signing one of our standout S2 players to the First Team," said Sounders general manager & president of soccer Garth Lagerwey in a team statement. "Oalex has a lot of potential, which he showed last season, and we're happy to have him join the senior squad ahead of the 2016 MLS season."
Seattle also announced on Tuesday two additional roster moves. Homegrown midfielder Jordan Schweitzer has been waived and added to the S2 roster for the 2016 season, while defender Jimmy Ockford has been sent on loan to the New York Cosmos.
