Former LA Galaxy defender Omar Gonzalez may have switched clubs, but his aerial dominance is still very much intact.
The 6-foot-5 center back scored a dramatic first goal for Pachuca on Sunday with three minutes left in their match at UNAM Pumas, securing a 1-1 draw and second place in the overall Liga MX Clausura standings. Gonzalez found the back of the net after applying a glancing header on a free kick delivered from the left side.
The Galaxy transferred the US national team defender to Pachuca on December 22 after seven seasons in MLS. Gonzalez has started all five matches for Los Tuzos in his debut campaign in the Mexican top flight.
