One of US Soccer’s top youth players is headed to Italy, with Under-20 forward Josh Perez announcing on Twitter on Thursday that he has agreed to a deal with Serie A club Fiorentina.
Perez has been linked to Fiorentina in the past, but because he doesn’t have a European passport had to wait until he turned 18 on Jan. 21 to sign for the club. The nephew of former US international Hugo Perez, the Southern California native played for the US at last year’s U-17 World Cup.
