AMSTERDAM – Fabian Johnson and Borussia Mönchengladbach played it close to the vest to earn their first point in Champions League Group D play on Wednesday night, battling hosts Juventus to a 0-0 stalemate.
The US international had a fairly quiet night out on the left wing while the Foals were being outshot 22-4. Johnson was held without a shot and played just five positive passes in or into the attacking half.
Johnson did contribute two pass interceptions and a tackle on the defensive side of the ball. The result kept 'Gladbach in the basement through three Champions League Matchdays.
Meanwhile, over in England's Championship, Charlie Horton served as backup netminder as Leeds United earned a 1-1 share at Fulham. Though they are still winless in four, the point lifted the Whites three spots to 17th place.
