Sporting a new hairdo and his familiar brashness, the New England Revolution's Diego Fagundez earned a spot in the MLS record books on Saturday night, becoming the youngest player in league history to make 100 appearances, at the tender age of 20 years, 119 days old.
History is nice, but goals are nicer. And Fagundez soon reminded everyone just why he's seen so much time on the field despite his youth, hammering home the eventual winner against the Chicago Fire.

Latching on to a loose ball as it dropped out of the sky at the top of the Fire penalty area, Fagundez blasted a side volley past Jon Busch to open the scoring for the Revs. It's his second goal of the season, and the 24th of his MLS career, and it set his team on their way to a 2-0 win that snaps a six-game winless skid.
Fagundez has found himself relegated to a substitute's role for much of the season so far, with Saturday night marking just his sixth start of 2015. But sizzling strikes like that have a way of keeping players in the lineup.
