The Philadelphia Union announced Wednesday they have signed Ray Gaddis to a new multi-year contract, keeping the steady and surprising defender in town for 2015 and beyond.
Per club and league policy, terms of the deal will not be disclosed.
Gaddis, 24, has started each of the team’s 27 matches this season and has played all but nine minutes on the field in 2014. In 2013 he played and started in 31 games for the Union, logging a total of 2703 minutes.
“Being in the right place at the right time and just being patient paid off,” Gaddis said in a statement. “The team really helped me mold as a player. Like I’ve said, you can always get better and I think that’s been instilled in me since I was a kid.”
Gaddis was originally drafted 35th overall in the MLS SuperDraft after playing college soccer at West Virginia.
