Surprise, surprise. Clint Dempsey was voted Etihad Airways MLS Player of the Month for April.
Not much of a shock. Considering the April he had, scoring seven goals and leading the Seattle Sounders to the top of the league standings, it was almost a foregone conclusion that the US national-team star would blow away the competition.
And blow them away he did, garnering more than 84 percent of the fan vote this week.
Dempsey and the Sounders return to action Saturday night at home against the Philadelphia Union (10 pm ET, MLS Free Stream of the Week).
