HOW ACQUIRED: Signed on December 18th, 2014.

Luis Marin joined Sporting Kansas City ahead of the 2015 season. The 31-year-old veteran comes to Major League Soccer after a 12-year professional career in his native Chile, having most recently played for Universidad de Chile.

2013-14: Joined Universidad de Chile on loan from O'Higgins in summer 2013. The club claimed the 2014-15 Apertura championship in December 2014 to qualify for the 2015 Copa Libertadores group stage. He started three matches in the 2014 Copa Libertadores -- securing victories in both legs of the first stage against Paraguay’s Guarani, as well as a win over Peru’s Real Garcilaso in the second stage – and also made two starts in the 2013 Copa Sudamericana.

2011-13: Captained O’Higgins FC for three seasons, making 86 league appearances. He led O’Higgins FC to a berth in the 2012 Copa Sudamericana as runners-up in the 2012 Apertura and started both matches in the first stage of the tournament.

2008-10: Was the starting goalkeeper at Union Espanola for three seasons, during which time the club finished in first place in the 2009 Torneo Apertura standings and reached the round of 16 in the 2009 Copa Sudamericana.

2003-07: His career in Chile began as a reserve with Audax Italiano from 2003-2006. Audax Italiano finished runners-up in the 2006 Clausura and Marin moved to Lota Schwager as the team’s starting goalkeeper for the 2007 campaign.

INTERNATIONAL (8 caps):
Marin made his international debut for Chile in March 2010 for the first of eight career caps. He was selected to Chile's 23-man roster for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa and last captained his country in February 2012.
