Career Summary

Chivas USA announced on July 18, 2013 the addition of Los Angeles native Jaime Jr. Frias Flores on loan from brother club Chivas de Guadalajara. Per Major League Soccer and club policies, details of this transaction will not be disclosed.

The 20-year-old defender is a product of Chivas de Guadalajara’s Youth Academy, where he earned several accomplishments at the U-17 and U-20 levels, in addition to playing for Guadalajara’s Third Division team. At age 17, Frias won his first Championship title with Guadalajara’s Third Division side during the 2009/10 season. A year later he moved on to the U17s where he finished runner-Up in the Apertura 2010 and Clausura 2011 tournaments.

In the Apertura 2011, Frias moved on to Chivas’ U-20, and four tournaments later became the captain of the side led by then-Head Coach Marco Fabian Vazquez, who currently serves as assistant coach for Chivas USA. In that same tournament, Frias won his second championship with the Rojiblancos, as the U-20 defeated Tigres UNAM in the 2013 League Final.

During his developmental process, Frias has also worked extensively with Guadalajara’s First Team, competing in inter-squad matches and training sessions, under the guidance of Dutch coach John van’t Schip and most recently under Chivas’ leader Benjamin Galindo.
