Career Summary

Isaac Boehmer moved up to the Whitecaps FC first-team roster in August 2020, climbing up the club's ranks starting from their Okanagan Academy Center.

In February 2022, Boehmer signed a contract extension through to the end of the year, with club options for 2023, 2024, and 2025.

WHITECAPS FC

'22: Boehmer spent the 2022 season interchanging between the first team and Whitecaps FC 2 (WFC2) roster. With the first team, the goalkeeper made his MLS debut at FC Cincinnati on July 13 as substitute for an injured Cody Cropper and went on to start the following two matches at Portland Timbers on July 17 and against Chicago Fire FC on July 23. In addition, Boehmer was named to the MLS Team of the Week for his performance in Week 21 against Portland. With WFC2, Boehmer started all 10 of his appearances in MLS NEXT Pro, recording one clean sheet against Real Monarchs SLC on June 4.

'21: Boehmer spent the second half of the season on loan to eventual Canadian Premier League champions Pacific FC, making one start during the regular season and being named to the bench in the club’s CPL Final triumph against Forge FC.

'20: Signed his first professional contract with the 'Caps first team in August 2020.

WHITECAPS FC ACADEMY

Boehmer first entered the Whitecaps FC BMO Academy System in the club’s Okanagan Academy Centre program while playing with Thompson Okanagan FC in the BC Soccer Premier League. The product of Okanagan Falls, British Columbia was selected to join the ‘Caps MLS Academy in September of 2018. In two seasons playing in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy league, Boehmer made 14 starts with the U-19 team. In 2020, he joined the Whitecaps FC Development Squad.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

In his youth, Boehmer played with Pinnacles FC in the Okanagan. In February 2016, the young goalkeeper experienced a training stint in Germany with Bundesliga club FC Schalke 04’s youth academy. He is the 23rd player from the Whitecaps FC Academy to sign an MLS Homegrown contract with the club.
