Romero was named Impact MVP in 2014. He missed the end of the 2015 season and the playoffs with a knee injury spent all of 2016 rehabbing. He is a two-time Amway Canadian Championship winner in 2013 and 2014, and scored in both the semifinal and finals of the CONCACAF Champions League in 2015.

OUTSIDE MLS: Romero started his career in the Argentinos Juniors and played professionally in both Argentina and Brazil, including a 2010 Clausura Title with Argentinos Juniors.
