Career Summary

Venezuelan forward Alejandro Moreno comes to Chivas USA in 2011 with many years of success in MLS under his belt, having played 222 regular season games (177 starts) since joining the league in 2002. Playing with the LA Galaxy (2002-2004), San Jose Earthquakes (2005), Houston Dynamo (2006), Columbus Crew (2007-2009) and Philadelphia Union (2010), Moreno has scored 45 goals and had 35 assists in his career. With the Venezuelan National Team, Moreno has made 23 appearances, scoring twice.

Originally from Barquisimeto, Venezuela, Moreno moved to Texas in his youth, and played college soccer at UNC Greensboro, where his 65 goals and 25 assists put him in fourth place on the school’s all-time scoring list. He has been selected in the last two MLS Expansion Drafts, first by Philadelphia in 2009, then by Vancouver in 2010, who then traded Moreno, along with Alan Gordon, to the Red-and-White.
