A proven goalscorer, Keane has scored more than 250 goals for club and country in a career that began in 1997 at the age of just 17 and has seen him become one of the most lethal forwards of his time. Since joining the LA Galaxy in 2011, Keane has been one of the most prolific and dangerous attacking scorers in the league, with 73 goals and 43 assists over 108 regular-season appearances. He's also netted nine goals and six assists across 18 playoff appearances, helping the Galaxy to MLS Cup wins in 2011, 2012 and 2014. He was the league and MLS Cup MVP in 2014 and is a four time best XI selection.

INTERNATIONAL: Keane is the most capped player in the history of the Republic of Ireland national team, with 143 caps since his first in 1998. He is also their leading scorer, with 67 international goals to his name. He represented Ireland at the 2002 World Cup and 2012 European Championships, and is set to represent his country again at Euro 2016. Keane has been the captain of the Irish national team since 2006.

OUTSIDE MLS: Prior to his arrival in Los Angeles, Keane enjoyed a long spell in the English league system, with short spells in Italy and Scotland. He is perhaps most known for his time at Tottenham Hotspur, for who he played from 2002-08 and 2009-11. He scored 91 goals in 238 league appearance for Spurs and captained the team in the 2009-10 Premier League season. He has also played for Wolverhampton Wanderers (where he started his professional career), Coventry City, Inter Milan, Leeds United, Liverpool, Celtic, West Ham United and Aston Villa (on an offseason loan from the Galaxy). He is 13th on the all-time Premier League goalscoring charts with 126 goals. In Europe, he was a three-time Tottenham Player of the Year (2003, 2005-06, 2007-08), Celtic Player of the Year in 2009-10 and the Football Association of Ireland's Senior International Player of the Year in 2010 and 2013. In addition to his three MLS Cup wins with LA, he has won a Supporters' Shield with LA (2011), plus the English League Cup with Tottenham in 2007-08.
