Leo Fernandes

Out of contract following 2016 season.

The Brazilian-born, Long Island-raised midfielder returns to the Union after a year on loan in the NASL. In his third year in the league, he will hope to use his success in the NASL as a platform tohave his first season where he crosses the 1,000 minute mark.

OUTSIDE MLS: Fernandes won the 2015 NASL young player of the year award, shining on loan for the New York Cosmos.

COLLEGE: Fernandes led Stony Brook in scoring with nine goals and seven assists for 20 points in 2011 and  was named the America East Midfielder of the Year, first-team All-America East and first-team NSCAA All-Northeast Region.
