Minnesota United FC winger Robin Lod scored the first goal of the new season against the Philadelphia Union, slamming home a Franco Fragapane feed in the 23rd minute.
Fragapane made an enterprising run down the left flank before finding the Finnish international near the penalty-kick spot, giving the visiting Loons a 1-0 lead Saturday at Subaru Park.
