Former Montreal Impact captain Patrice Bernier is going to remain close to his former team after all.

The 38-year-old ex-midfielder, who retired at the end of the 2017 season, is joining TVA Sports as a contributor to L’Impact this week.

“I am very proud to join the TVA Sports team, who, like me, share a passion for the Montreal Impact and MLS,” Bernier said in a statement. “This new opportunity will allow me to continue to share my love for my sport, but this time through television. I also look forward to the first meeting of the season to discuss all the news of the league.”

Bernier, who is also part of the Impact's Academy staff, scored 15 goals in 151 appearances for the Impact from 2012-2017 and was the team’s captain from 2014 through his final match. He joins former Impact teammate Hassoun Camara on L’Impact this week beginning March 1.
