Chicago Fire FC have re-signed forward Elliot Collier, the club announced Thursday. The 24-year-old is under contract for the 2020 season with club options for 2021 and 2022.

“Elliot has fully earned this new contract,” Chicago Fire FC coach Raphael Wicky said in a statement. “He has impressed our staff with his desire to come in and work hard and he has continuously shown improvement after every training session.”

The New Zealand native has scored two goals in 17 appearances, including 10 starts, across all competitions in two seasons with Fire FC. He’s also gone on loan with USL Championship sides Indy Eleven and Memphis 901 FC in his first two seasons.

After making 11 appearances for Indy Eleven in 2018, Collier was a regular in the Memphis 901 FC lineup, scoring seven goals in 29 appearances, including the club's first-ever hat trick.

Collier, who initially had his contract option declined after the 2019 season, was selected by the Fire with the 49th overall pick in the 2018 MLS SuperDraft.
