Ballou Tabla - Montreal Impact - looks on after taking a shot

TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Loan

The Montreal Impact have acquired Ballou Tabla on loan from Barcelona B, the club announced Wednesday. Montreal used the No. 1 spot in the Allocation Ranking Order they acquired in a previous trade to sign Tabla. His loan will expire at the end of the season.

Tabla, 20, came through the Impact academy before signing a Homegrown deal ahead of the 2017 season, where he excelled in his lone MLS campaign. With two goals and two assists in 21 appearances (11 starts), Tabla was signed by Barcelona B in January 2018.

"I'm very happy to welcome Ballou to the club that saw him grow," said Impact head coach Remi Garde in a statement. "The opportunity with Barcelona and his desire to return to Montreal came up very recently. No need to talk of his quality, since it's in front of the supporters that Ballou revealed his ability. I hope he can seize this short opportunity until the end of the season to renew his career."

He played 31 games with Barcelona B, including one with FC Barcelona U19 in the UEFA U19 Championship, scoring three goals and adding two assists. In the winter of 2019, he was loaned out to Albacete Balompié, in Spain’s second division, where he played two games.
